
HEARTS BEAT LOUD
Engaging actors, pleasant music, good for fans of Hallmark movies plot: single dad freaked over daughter's desire to be a doctor and go to college out of state. He hastily forms a band with her and they give their first performance to a crowd of supportive listeners as he closes out his unprofitable record store. There's a first lesbian romance, hints of promising heterosexual contacts in the future for Dad. Not much plot. Toni Collette is great as usual. My recommendation:
Movie Time!
Three movies to review. First, Book Club. Oy vey. Terrible. It's fun to see the aging faces of some of our favorite actresses, but that's not enough to sustain a whole movie.
